It’s finally nice in London again. I’m going to listen to this on repeat today. Washed Out I love you.

Really like Patrick Wolf and this remix is lovely, builds really well, and when the piano hits come in half way through it’s a totally unexpected but completely perfect lift that the track needs. Warm.

Very busy today so will keep this short and sweet, just make sure you check out this gorgeous remix from an old fave of mine Kap10kurt!

Young new producer called Shook taking on a track that’s already been brilliantly remixed by Alex Metric and Classixx, big competition, but I think he’s frickin’ awesome personally. Check it before you wreck it. That may also be the best artwork i’ve ever seen (above). Wolf and synth. Fuck!

The new Arcade Fire record is without doubt my favourite album of the year so far (closely followed by Interpol). ‘Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)’ fits beautifully into mixes, and now thanks to Tronic Youth the brilliant ‘We Used To Wait’ does too! Bonus!
I posted about Hidden Cat a while ago and i’ve just found another pretty sweet remix by them. Totally not the type of thing i’d normally post but it’s got such a nice vibe. What’s more, it’s made me discover Dirty Projectors, who may be one of the weirdest, but coolest new bands i’ve seen in a while. Check out their video above – is that a llama? And a wolf? Aroooooo!!!

Not sure which version I prefer, the original has a really nice muddy/reverb sound, quite like Washed Out. It’s some dreamy shit! But then i’m pretty obsessed with pitch shifting, and I love the way Christian Niva has cut up the vocals at the beginning in his remix. Anyway, both ideal for a chilled out summer BBQ. Got to stop writing about BBQs…

Love this remix, must be pretty daunting taking on Radiohead, especially Nude which is one of my all time faves. City Rain do a great job though, pretty deep…

Robyn is a bit of a mentalist I think, but every so often she does some quite nice stuff. Even if you hate pop music you’ve got to admit Dancing On My Own was pretty epic, in a kind of Bleeding Love karaoke pissed singalong kind of way. Anyway, this song has an annoying title, but I quite like the heavy beat that Mylo and Sharooz have added, it stomps along quite happily. Definitely inspired by Soulwax/the bassline from The Goblin Battle on the Labyrinth soundtrack. Pretty sad that I know that.
So hungover.

I’ve been listening to Grum for a while, his remix of Tommy Sparks’ ‘Miracle’ was probably one of my favourites from last year (see below). Since then he’s definitely got more pop. I’m not complaining. This track is a guilty pleasure, and probably as gay as I get. I always think it’s gonna say ‘You can be my lucky star.’ Always disappointed. Enjoy anyway.

And here’s the remix of Tommy Sparks, to apologise for my camp friday fun.
