We just love Tom Bulwer’s rework of Photek’s ‘Levitation’, forthcoming on K7 records..but we would say that wouldn’t we! Nevertheless – factor in one hell of a kick drum; beautifully moody, swirling pads and serious attention to detail paid with every snap, crackle and fizz of percussion and we think you’ll agree with us! Lovely work.

Nikola Gala – Only (Ryan Elliott Remix)
James Welsh – Air Valley
When I first heard this record I thought I was in some kind of old movie looking out onto a crackly, romantic and changing world. It’s hard to find words to describe such a timeless record – beautiful chords that sound like they’ve been sampled from a 1920 gramophone and a revisited vocal that talks directly to the heart – are at the backbone of this track, and boy they are lovely.
Dan Ghenacia & Shonky – Close To The Edge
Well summer has officially started and we’ve got a party at the end of the week so what better way to celebrate than with a sneak peak of Apollonia’s second release “Close To The Edge”. Label owners Dan Ghenacia and Shonky get behind the desk and create a piece of house music with the sunshine in mind, sunset or sunrise (we don’t mind when you listen to it!). You can tell Shonky’s influence on the record, his funky basslines and locked grooves ring through, but when you add Dan into the mix, you get years of experience in house music. Perfect! Just listen and smile
NY Stomp – NY House Trak (Nicholas Basement Dub)
Just on the back of remixing the Nu Groove catalogue it’s fair to say that Nicolas is on a real old skool tip. In fact his productions just ooze ‘the good old days’ of house. He nails all the fantastic things that made great records in the days when producers had to load up samples into their 5MB sampler memory. His Basement Dub of ‘NY House Track’ is no different. The goal of the EP is to pay homage to tracks played through the 90s in the Big Apple and the early house sound of New Jersey. The beautiful old skool beats, stabs and signature funked up b-line certainly do it justice. A classic NY joint.
Maceo Plex – Stay High Baby
Maceo Plex seems to be going from strength to strength at the moment. The EP, released on his new label Ellum Audio features two tracks. The one that literally gives this writer goose pimples is posted here: “Stay High Baby”. It’s got true deep and sexy Maceo bass and vocals with real feeling that will grab deep dancefloors the world over. I’m always amazed by Maceo’s synth work. Listen to the main breakdown and you’ll know exactly what I mean. GetDownGood would like to wish Maceo Plex all the best with his new label.
Tom Bulwer – PodDownGood Mix
Here’s my latest mix to warm you all up for GetDownGood @ Public Life on Friday the 30th September.
Recorded with 1210′s, an Allen & Heath 92 and a bag of wax..
Jef K & Gwen Maze – Boy Meets Girl
We’re big fans of Parisian DJ/Producer Jef K over here at GetDownGood. The man knows how to lay down serious sets, party hard and produce deep, grooving underground house. His latest release with production partner in crime Gwen Maze on One Records is no exception. Lush drums and quirky vocals make you want to cut the bass out, and bring the modernly adapted house groove crashing back in. The rest of the EP sees tracks from Jordan Peak, Alex Arnout, John Dimas and Julien Sandre. Another quality release from One Records out on the 29th of August. Go and buy it!
Death On The Balcony – We Are Time and Space (Robert James / Jef K & Gwen Maze Remixes)

Two amazing remixes forthcoming on the Parisian Silver network imprint. Robert James offers up a moody cut with Nu Disco snares, bumping bass and rolling deep synth chords. Jef K & Gwen Maze deliver a straight up underground house mix that would rock any basement or block party. Check out clips of both remixes here.
Luca C & Brigante ‘Different Morals’ (Clockwork Remix)
Garage is back. This new Clockwork remix of ‘Different Morals’ on Southern Fried Records offers up chunky house ‘n’ garage filtered drums, and a deep funk bass to get your botty moving. The irresistible vocal charms come from Ali Love and the original record is by cosmic disco house duo Luca C & Brigante. Get your cans on and check it here.
