Scope – The Chicago Connection EP

There’s a great new EP from Irish DJ and Producer Scope (real name Ric McClelland) out earlier this month that I can’t stop playing. The Chicago Connection EP is Ric’s personal homage to the house music history that has forged Chicago’s reputation as the “home of house”. Four delectable tracks to choose from here, all primed for peak time use. “When You Want To” is a gritty, bass-heavy underground groove while “Turn it Loose” dives into solid Nu House Territory. “Something for Nothing” features the signature Scope blend of ethereal keys and deep, driving bass and beats. Finally, Ric throws in a sonic tribute to the legendary DJ Sneak with the supremely funky and raw “8 Track”.

Personal favourites are “8 Track” and “Something for Nothing” both getting plays on this week’s 2Deep House Show

Here’s a taste of “Something for Nothing”
