Look at him, all smug and smoking and sexy and stuff. Mind you. I’d be pretty smug myself if was turning out records like this. Baby Prince (aka W+L’s Gadi) drops this absolute belter on somethinksounds in the next few weeks, and if I were you I’d snap it up quicksmart. Encompasses everything I love about Gadi’s production with a bonus R&B-flecked vocal turn from Charlie thrown in for good measure…

Slow Hands – Sweetest Taboo
It helps if you’re a fan of the original of course, but in my opinion Slow Hands’ take on Sade’s sublime ‘Sweetest Taboo’ is one of the most worthwhile and delicately handled covers I’ve heard for a while. Forthcoming on Gadi’s vinyl-only Double Standard imprint, it comes coupled with a suitably twisted Benoit & Sergio cover of Daft Punk’s ‘Around the World. All in all, a lovely little package.
Nicolas Jaar – WOUH
Yeah, so we’ve definately blogged about this particular chap before, but frankly if he wants us to refrain he should stop making such ridiculously good tunes. This is far and away my favourite so far – a delicious, melancholy slice of laid back electronica..and when those strings come in towards the end? Wow…just so, so good. Check it out here – released as part of his Love You Gotta Lose Again EP on Double Standard (vinyl-only) around the 18th of October.
