Here’s an hour and 5 minutes from Greg in anticipation of our party with him, BLM & Bearweasel at Basing House on the 15th Feb. Lots of lovely music in this including especially exceptional detours from Mr Larger, Burial, Alan Backdrop and Jacques Renault. Greg needed new press pics but as you can see, opted for a pencil drawing instead as he decided it was more underground. Lovely big face. What do you think?

If you were at our recent party at Basing House you will have no doubt experienced the delight that is Greg laying waste to an undulating dance floor of house and techno bods. But he doesn’t just like to play music; he likes to make music too. Greg marks his Falk recordings début with three beautifully restrained and perfectly paced cuts of deep house, all in the key of ‘sad’. The EP will be released September 3rd, you can check out the clips below.
A mix for July from Greg Sawyer. Not too fast, pretty dark, rather lovely; as you’d expect really. Greg will be playing alongside Jichael Mackson, Sei A and Tom Bulwer for the next GDG event at Basing House on Friday 3rd August.

This is only the second record from the newly launched Never Learnt label, but they’ve already made quite an impression. This is probably the pick of the cuts, but there’s not much in it between this and the b-side ‘Vital Ital Rub’. Deep, brooding and satisfying – just like house should be – out 23rd April (vinyl only).
My, wasn’t the month of January long and arduous, and it was only aggravated by the distinct lack of a mixtape from Greg. Think of this then, as a really slow audio apology from Greg in which he takes us from 115bpm to 117bpm over the course of an hour and ten minutes. Each track steeped in regret and remorse, enjoy.
We’ve waved a fond farewell to 2011 and are now looking ahead to the new year with breath that is baited. On a personal note, I’m particularly excited as January sees the release of the latest Tenth Circle release; a Various Artists EP which (hopefully) will be the first in a long and illustrious series…time will tell. This first edition collates tracks from a number of young producers for whom I see great things happening in 2012. Out on the 25th.
I think it’s fair to say that tracks which start with a four minute breakdown are fairly rare. Those that do exist are usually pitched in the SHM-esque, utter noise/shite/makes me want to hurt those involved bracket. Soma’s latest is the former without getting anywhere near the latter; a little tougher than I would usually blog about, but quality through and through.
